Kitchen Plumbing Issues

Our kitchens are often called the heart of our homes because it is where we prepare meals for our families and guests. It is a place to find physical nourishment, and it is important for safety to have water and good drainage.

When a garbage disposal fails, we can’t wash the dishes or our hands as stinky water sits in the sink. When the faucet or drain is broken, the same is true.

Faulty water lines, including ice maker lines can lead to hidden water damage that can produce mold and making us sick.

On the positive side, we can be inspired in our kitchens. We see updates that make our lives easier, trends that we love, and remodels that make the space more functional, efficient and beautiful.

My Purple Plumber Helps with Kitchen Plumbing Issues

Garbage Disposals

Grind up food waste. Don’t put more than what is left over on a dinner plate down the drain – use the trash instead. Never put non-food items in the disposal, including plastic, glass, or paper products.

Ice Maker Lines

New refrigerator? We are happy to help cap off an ice maker line or run a new one. If you are installing a free-standing ice maker, we can create a water line straight to it, or to a coffee machine.

Kitchen Sink Drainage Issues

If the garbage disposal has stopped working, it could cause the kitchen sink to hold water and not drain. Too much food waste, or items that shouldn’t go in the drain could also cause drainage issues. A faulty p-trap or air admittance valve (AAV) can also cause drain issues, and we can help resolve all these problems.

Moving Water or Drain Lines

Usually if My Purple Plumber is asked to move water or drain lines it is because of a remodel or installation of a new sink, faucet or drain. Congratulations on the upgrade! We will safely cap off any existing lines before the remodel, and will reconnect them or install new lines once the remodel is completed.
